Support Page & Our Recent Discovery of Micro-veggies!

Hi EcoQube C Backers!

We would like to emphasis the use of the support page we have created should you need support.

Feel free to browse through the FAQs to find the answers you may have regarding the EcoQube C and contact us if you have further questions.

We know that as a backer of the EcoQube C and a supporter of living decor, you are deeply interested in incorporating nature into your home. We want to include you in the process as we grow as a company.

Our company is always on a lookout for new ideas that may add value to our lives and those we invest in, including you. Recently, we’ve discovered the benefits of micro-veggies that have been super trendy as garnish on dishes created by professional chefs or in tasty salads. Micro-veggies are delicious, tiny, and edible plants that are smaller than baby greens, but larger than sprouts.

Our founder Kevin shared his personal story of starting Aqua Design Innovations and discovery of  micro-veggies. To read it, take a look at the post up on our blog.

A few things we’ve learned about micro-veggies is that they :

  1. Contain up to 40 times higher levels of vital nutrients than their mature counterparts.

  2. Come in OVER 50 types- from micro-cilantro to kale, kabbage, radish and broccoli (my favorite)

  3. Are easy to grow, fully growing from seed in just 2-3 weeks and require just a little countertop space!

Try your hand at growing your own micro-veggies the sustainable way or stop by your local farmer’s market to have a taste.

Have you ever heard of micro-veggies? Comment below what your favorites are.

Cheers,

Anna

3 Tips to Make your Basil Plant Grow & Flourish
about 7 years ago – Mon, Jan 23, 2017 at 11:25:35 PM

Hey Kickstarter Backers!

As you’ve been a proud EcoQube C owner for the past months to over a year, we hope that you’ve been able to enjoy the calm of nature in the presence of your own home.

To help you out, we’ve created for you 3 tips to make your basil plant grow and flourish:

1). Make sure the sponge that was included in the net pot is wet so that the seeds can sprout. Our old white sponges included with the EcoQube melted, but all sponges shipped with EcoQubes after April 2016 work great. There needs to be moisture for the seed to sprout since water initiates the cycle of growth.

2). Though the basil seeds may sprout, even the most avid gardener will find that the plants may not always develop into fully grown plants. This is because the plants need space to grow as the roots continue to spread out. Since we’ve created the EcoQube to be nice and compact, you may find it best to transport your plant to a larger container so it can flourish in its new home. You can then replace the basil plant with a smaller version of it.

3). Basil plants, like any plant, follows a natural cycle of growth and decay. A healthy plant will be able to be sustained in your EcoQube for 3-6 months.  Additionally, if you find that your seeds aren't sprouting, they may have gone bad in an environment that wasn't moist enough for them to sprout, but just moist enough for them to go bad. We suggest that you add new seeds to your net pot to allow it to germinate. An even better solution may be to splice (or clone) your plants.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to check out our blog post about cloning plants, so that you can have ready access to a fresh supply of basil plants. This way, you will be well prepared to combat any environmental or natural issues that your basil plant may face.

We hope these tips helped you out! Feel free to share with us photos of your EcoQube C to [email protected] so that we can see all the creative ways you have made it your own!

 Cheers,

How YOU influenced the EcoQube Design (Holiday discounts included!)
over 7 years ago – Wed, Nov 23, 2016 at 08:02:07 PM

Hey there!

This is Zarifah, Team ADI's Design Person.

Here at ADI we design our products with your use in mind - I work every day with our customer service team to understand you and your needs. Right from the conceptualising process all the way to the mass manufacturing, we make sure that your needs and ease of use is put first, beyond anything else.

Take for example our very first EcoQube - many of you came to us with issues regarding it, and your feedback has helped us make the EcoQube C.

We implemented all the feedback the very first 700 EcoQube owners provided in December 2014 to create the upgraded EcoQube C you all know and love. Even then, it was not perfect, and your feedback, once again, has been extremely valuable in helping us work out the final kinks in this product you helped create. With every shipment, we can now present you with better and better releases.

While creating the prototypes for the EcoQube Air, we worked with your previous feedback in mind to create a beautiful and yet still easy-to-use product. It was extremely challenging, as the Air is a complex product with many components and an app, but prioritising your ease of use has helped us focus on creating the best product for you!

Here are a couple of improvements with have made with feedback from you:

  • Integrated aquaponics filter on the C that has created a seamless, beautiful aquarium
  • Improvements to the design from the first EcoQube to the EcoQube C that has made it much easier to use
  • Better grow mediums for all our products
  • A brace on the EcoQube C to help prevent fish from jumping out of an aquarium with no cover
  • Failsafes and extra protection in the Air that help prevent water damage to the electricals

Because we’ve spent so much time and love crafting our products, we’d love for you to get our EcoQube C at a BIG discount this coming Black Friday! Stay tuned for big savings on an amazing holiday gift for yourself or your loved ones!

Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ll be offering between Black Friday and Cyber Monday on Amazon. Grab them before they sell out!

We’re Implementing YOUR FEEDBACK!
over 7 years ago – Tue, Sep 06, 2016 at 08:31:24 PM

We hope you’re all enjoying your EcoQubes! After shipping over 10,000 EcoQubes all over the world, we heard 3 things:

1. The EcoQube looks AMAZING.
2. We NEED a waterfall!
3. Wish it was LARGER.
Well, our engineering team has been fiddling around with the EcoQube C model and came up with THIS:

EcoQube Air tray on the top of the EcoQube C.
EcoQube Air tray on the top of the EcoQube C.

The base measures about 19.9 x 19.9 x 39.4 cm and will hold about 15.6 L (or about 4 US gallons of water). The plant holder on top of the EcoQube C has been replaced with a tray that holds plant mediums and hydroponic pebbles. A waterfall delivers water from the tank into the tray, and we think it looks fantastic!

The light fixtures are the same one used in the EcoQube C for now, but we are planning to make changes to the LED placements and possibly the structure of the light fixture itself in the future. It will also have a larger pump than the one used in the EcoQube C, and the pump outflow will produce a waterfall to help aerate the water and avoid blowing your fish around. We currently have a couple of zebra danio swimming around the prototype in our office, and we’re going to be looking to test it with more varieties of livestock in the future!

We’re currently focusing on manufacturing the EcoQube Air right now, so it will be awhile before we do anything with this design. Let us know what you think of our new prototype in the comments. We haven’t named it yet but we’re open to suggestions from our supporters :)

All the best,

Eric and Team ADI
