Our primary goal here at ADI is to introduce the idea of aquaponics to as many people as possible. That’s why we’ve developed the science project kit which has now been used by thousands of people to learn and share the benefits of aquaponics. Shipping Progress! Setting up your EcoQubes and becoming a Super Backer!

Over 200 EcoQube Cs have been received by our VIP backers and dozens of you have already messaged us about them. We’ve shipped out 300+ units since our past update and we’re working out the kinks with our fulfillment center to expedite this process to ship 1000+ units/week until all units are fulfilled. We know you will enjoy your new EcoQubes as much as we do, and we hope you will share your pictures of your new living decor with us soon (If you do, make sure to tag us! @designadi_).

Since your EcoQube Cs are now arriving at your doors, there are a few things to keep in mind: 

All livestock orders (Fish, shrimp, snails, aquatic plants) will be shipped ~1 month after your EcoQubes arrive directly from our San Diego HQ! Shipping can stress out livestock so we want to make sure we allow sufficient time for your EcoQube ecosystems to mature before they arrive to their new homes. 

The delayed shipping of the livestocks/plants also ensures that the plants in the aquaponics filter has had adequate time to grow to the point where it can effectively clean the water. When you first set up your EcoQube C and turn on the filter, some cloudiness may occur and that’s fine. Any water cloudiness should clear within 2-3 days, leaving you with a pristine tank. 

The EcoQube is quite intuitive to set-up as some of you have already experienced but it of course comes with a quick start guide too.

Fulfillment Underway!

Hello Backers!

Last week we told you all to be on the lookout for some pictures of the fulfillment process. Our co-founder Kevin has been at our fulfillment center in Augusta, Georgia this entire week overlooking the final stages of fulfillment and making sure that the VIP EcoQube C orders get to you guys without any issues. In addition to these VIP orders, we also have 2500 other units being processed that will be on time for delivery in November. Even though we will be shipping every day for the rest of November, there may be some spill-over into December for orders that require more processing (with UV lights + international).

Hello Backers!

We have some exciting news about the status of your orders and future direction of the EcoQube C!

1) VIP orders are on their way 

2) 5000/6500 complete!

Status of VIP orders

As of October 22nd, the container holding all of the VIP EcoQube Cs without special upgrades (added UV, upgraded LED light, and LED remote) has landed, passed through customs and has been safely shipped to our fulfilment center!

Depending on how fast they’re able to pack and process the orders, your EcoQube will be shipped out within 1-3 weeks! Our co-founder Kevin is personally heading to Georgia next week to ensure the fulfillment process continues running smoothly.

In our previous campaign for the EcoQube 1, we handled all of the shipping ourselves from a small warehouse right here in San Diego, CA with just 500 units. However, with the achievement of 2,500% funding and the responsibility of shipping out ~6,500 units in this current campaign, it would have been very difficult for us to use this same strategy. Instead, we’ve partnered with a Georgia based fulfillment company that has the infrastructure to handle such a large order. We’ve really made an effort to make sure that all of your orders were in the best of care, and although the new fulfillment center took an additional 19 days to reach, we believe this method was the best way to get as many EcoQube Cs out to as many people as possible.

Production Progress

In addition to the VIP orders, we have 5000+ units COMPLETE and on their way to our various fulfillment centers across the globe for the rest of our wonderful backers. We’re thrilled that the manufacturing process AND quality assurance have gone as smoothly as they did, and we’ve ramped up production to 700 units/week.

At our current pace, all EcoQube C back orders will be manufactured in ~3 weeks. We’re looking forward to delivering your windows to nature and spreading the word about aquaponics!

Moving Forward with the EcoQube C

We’ve taken inspiration from our friends with their own Kickstarter campaigns (Baubax, Meater, and Barracuda) and have decided to launch another crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. All of our backers from this Kickstarter will receive their EcoQube Cs before the next round of shipping begins for this upcoming Indiegogo campaign.

More people than ever before have been asking for the EcoQube C and everything is already in place for us to get these people their own desktop ecosystem. As previously mentioned, production is running at a great rate and the fulfillment process has been adjusted to get our backers their EcoQubes in the most time-efficient way possible. All our quality assurance tests are also already in place to ensure the product our backers receive is of the best quality possible. Without this upcoming campaign, we would have to halt production and everything we’ve set up that was mentioned earlier would go to waste. If this were to happen, setting up again and trying to get the EcoQube C to people would take way longer.

As our original backers, you guys got the best prices. The Indiegogo VIP orders will start at ~$70 (~40% more than $39 you guys were offered). However, after this Indiegogo campaign, prices will never be that low again. So if you have any family or friends who want their very own EcoQube C or if you just want to help share the aquaponic vision, please refer them to this campaign! Beyond spreading helping to spread the word about this amazing technology, every referral you make will earn you a $10 voucher usable on anything in our store! There’s no limit on the amount of vouchers you can get, you could technically get an entire EcoQube C plus livestock on referrals alone!

We’re kicking off our this new phase during November, so look out for emails from us with links, referral instructions, and updates as the date draws nearer.
